Blushing!

You could have blown me down last week.
I got a phone call out of the blue from
 Brandi at The Blushing Bakeshop.

Brandi at her main counter.

Brandi, it seems, had purchased a card of mine at
 Consignments on South.
A cupcake card, of course.
And she wanted to talk to me about cupcake cards.

Needless to say, I was so happy and excited.
Her store and bakery is so cute!
And her cupcakes are to DIE for!
The Blushing Bakeshop is in Ballentyne Village.
Great spot in a very cute and
convenient center.

Would I meet with her and set up a
consignment agreement?

YOU BETCHA.

Some of the displays at Blurshing Bakery. Brandi also has
cute handmade aprons.

I took some different cards - - including
 cupcake 3x3 gift cards
and a display that LSH
(long suffering husband) made for me.
We had a wonderful morning brainstorming.

I promised to be back in a few days
 to see the display.

And here it is! She did a wonderful job!

My distressed chicken wire picture frame. Uses Ikea curtain hooks and small
clothes pins to fasten cards. LSH put the chicken wire in for me.

A close up of a couple of the small gift cards.
After some of the
current cards are sold, I will focus
on just cupcake cards and holidays.

Two small gift cards: a 3.5x2.5 and a 3x3.
Brandi sells and beautifully wrapped individual cupcakes to go.
These will be great to put on the top of the box.
It looked like some cards had already sold. Yay!
I'm looking forward to making more cards for Brandi

and her beautiful cupcake bakery.

Stop in and see her soon and get a
YUMMY cupcake!

Have a scratchy day!

New Wreath

Out with the old, in with the new.

At least for a while.
Remember when I did the paper wreath with the old herb dictionary?

That wreath has been up until this past week.

I finished a cute little Valentine wreath last week.

It was fun, easy and didn't take long to make.
I started with a heart-shaped grapevine wreath from Michael's.
Don't have a Michael's? Any craft or garden center should have one.

Have a glue gun and glue sticks on hand.
Add some ribbon that is at least 1 1/2 inches wide.
I used Stampin' Up ribbon in striped red.

Now here's what I did.
I used my Big Shot from Stampin' Up
and their dies for lollies.

The pleated round flower thingies are called "lollies."
Who knew?
Then more Big Shot Sizzix dies for the nested hearts.

That was it.
Then hot glued it all together.

Here's a detail picture.

I used Valentine themed paper from last year,
and glitter paper
and then stamped a cupid on white card stock for the last heart.
Cute, eh?

Happy Valentines Day
to you and yours!

Hop over and see all the creative Valentines.

Theirs And Mine #1

I take inspiration from lots of other talented bloggers. Here are a few crafts I've done lately and the blogger who inspired me.

Loved the paper wreaths that Lindsey from Out of Alabaster did in August of 2011. I have a black front door, so I look for lighter colors to contrast in a wreath. And it turned out to be an easy project.  Here's Lindsey's:

I found an old book on herbs on a junking trip to Sleepy Poet and used the pages to create mine. I aged it some with an ink pad (Stampin' Up! Soft Suede) and then spritzed it (Stampin Up! Champagne Mist Glimmer Paint mixed with alcohol), which you can't see in the photo. Thanks Lindsey, for the tutorial! Here it is:

I saw this at Dee's blog, A Lapin Life. And I knew I needed to do my own.

So here is what I came up with! I gave them to roommates on a recent trip.  Burlap ribbon from Etsy and burlap twine from the hardware store, then heart charm from Stampin' Up and some stamped sentiments also from Stampin' Up.

Here is another fun crafty thing - - handmade wine or bottle stoppers. Great gift as well.  Again, I saw them first at A Lapin Life.

And here are a couple of mine.

These were fun to make and were very fun to give!  The original drawer pull from this batch of stoppers were from Anthropologie in the mall. They can be pricey. But there are cute ones in the hardware store as well. More twine from the hardware store and itty bitty safety pins bought in bulk from Michaels. Then ribbon and stamped sentiments from Stampin' Up.
